In IEMT (Integral Eye Movement Therapy) we have various techniques for dealing with clients presenting problems however as we all know the presented problem isn’t necessarily THE problem that’s giving you so much pain. One diagnostic tool we use when dealing with people who have depression is the 3 Pillars model. Often though these patterns are recursive or cyclical so I’ve put them in to a circular pattern for added clarity.
Now, suppose you are struggling with anxiety, this is all about the future – what will happen if? Will it happen again? people might talk and on and on. You get so stressed and het up that you have outbursts of anger or temper. Then the guilt sets in…and back to the start. Maybe something has happened in the past of which you are guilty of or ashamed, or something your regret. But what if it happens again? And here you are back in anxiety, worry and panic.
And round and round it goes…
So what if you could learn to get out of this cycle? Resolve the anxiety and anger? That would be a good thing wouldn’t it?
IEMT is a fabulous model for resolving these issues and you know what? The great thing is there’s no need to even talk about what the real issue is, which for those people who may have been through years of therapy and counselling that is often a blessed relief.
